How We Came About
In 2016 I asked the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula how I could help. They needed children's books to support their after school programs and furniture to upgrade their lobby to make it more family friendly.
With a few phone calls and the help of friends, local shops, and hospitality groups we secured donations of over 2,000 books and art supplies, tables, chairs, and dishes too! In addition extra chairs and tables were donated to the Veterans Transition Center in Marina, CA.
It was then I realized there was a powerful opportunity to connect the Monterey County Hospitality Association members and other local businesses with non-profits in need. Out of this revelation the Community Reuse Network was started.
