City of Monterey Donates Concrete Planters
The City of Monterey made a decision to replace old large, round, concrete planters with new narrow planters to allow for increased foot traffic on sidewalks along Alvarado street and other downtown locations.
Between June 28, 2018 and September 21, 2018, Community Reuse Network worked with the City of Monterey and local non-profit groups to repurpose these large, heavy, concrete planters! Some were located along Alvarado Street and others were in the city maintenance yard at Ryan Ranch. These planters were heavy and hard to load. Non-profit recipients coordinated bringing large trucks and manpower. The City of Monterey team helped load the planters with their fork lift onto the trucks. All of these planters have a new life at the non-profit locations and are being enjoyed every day!
Our thanks to Louie Marcuzzo and his staff at the City of Monterey Parks Department for their support of this donation.
Items donated include-
- 79 Concrete Planters in a variety of sizes
- 3 Concrete Ashtrays
- 1 Picnic Table
